Who is PVBS

Penns Valley Building Supply has a rich history of serving the Penns Valley, State College, and surrounding areas since its founding in 1991.  After the Smith brothers built and operated the store for a year, they were approached by a group of 3 guys who met in a study group who were interested in purchasing it.  Gary, Steve, and Scott purchased the store and built it to what it is now. They expanded the store areas and offices, improved the back office systems and processes, and built a reputation in the community that they could be proud of.  In 2019, Phil and Shane bought into the business as new partners.  The 5 partners also own Steve Hackman Builders and BHL Mechanicals, all of which gall under the umbrella of BHL Partnership.

PVBS is an approachable independent building supply store that carries pro-grade materials and equipment for building professionals and DIY-ers alike. We stand by the products we carry and the venders we team up with.  We are always scanning the horizon for the next best building materials innovations while always keeping a healthy supply of the tried and tested staples. You won't have to deal with the levels of corporate bureaucracy when working with us.  We love getting to know our customers on a first name basis and learning how best to serve them.
